Denise Marie Flaherty Memorial Foundation
Answers Most Frequently Asked Questions

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. DMF foundation is a 501c3, and your donation is fully tax-deductible.  Even a portion of your registration fee is deductible; you can email [email protected] if you need a receipt for a portion that is deductible. For example, a golf registration fee might be $200, the “cost” to the golf course and the portion returned to you in goods and services may be $175 (your golf, food, drinks, etc.), making $25 your net donation.
However, if you make a straight donation, say $200, that is 100% deductible.

How can I nominate a cancer fighter for support?

Just email [email protected] , and we will get you an application.

What are the criteria for support?

A potential beneficiary needs to:

  1. Have Cancer or Be Dealing with the Financial burden of having just beaten cancer.
  2. They must be willing to open about their situation and being our beneficiary. They can’t be anonymous, this is because we believe in Transparency and showing our supporters where the money goes.
  3. The applicant must be willing to share records and personal financial data to demonstrate the financial impact of cancer on them and their family.
